THE IDAHO DEBATES

Please note: Backpacks and briefcases will not be allowed inside the auditorium and purses will be subject to search.

Please arrive between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. We need everyone inside the auditorium and seated by 7:45pm. Any unoccupied seats will be released to the general public at 7:40pm and doors will close at 7:45pm.

For more than three decades, Idaho Public Television has been Idaho's 'station of record' for candidate debates. Ahead of the November 2 general election, we continue that tradition with debates for statewide and federal offices.

The Idaho Debates will be held at the state Capitol building, House/Senate Auditorium (WW02), in Boise.

• Ticket holders will receive priority seating and be offered a chance to submit their questions for the candidates.
• Unoccupied seats will be released to the general public 20 minutes before debate begins.
• Doors open 1 hour before debate begins
• Doors close 15 minutes before debate begins

This ticket includes entry into “The Takeaway: Post-Debate Analysis with Dr. Jim Weatherby, Dr. Steve Shaw and Special Guests.” This live, web-only discussion begins immediately after each debate in the Capitol Auditorium. The pundits will offer their take on the candidates’ performances. Audience participation is strongly encouraged. The video will stream at idahoptv.org and be available for viewing afterward.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING
Audience members can enter the Capitol building from the WEST entrance, garden level. From the sidewalk on 8th Street between State and Jefferson, go down the stairs and enter the building. The House/Senate Auditorium (WW02) is located on the left side of the hall. [Directions]

After 6PM, free parking is available in the lot directly west of the Capitol and in any metered spots in downtown Boise.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Cell phones, signs and outbursts such as applause or derisive shouts are prohibited during the debates. [View debate rules] 

CANCELLATION
We understand that sometimes your plans change and you may not be able to attend the debate. To be courteous to others who want to attend the debate, please cancel your ticket at least 24 hours prior to the debate if you do not intend to attend the debate.
